Thanksgiving is but a week away, and the air is a balmy 90 degrees! I think I may go to the beach or hiking in the mountains or something this weekend. It's been beautiful here this past two weeks. I'm sorry I haven't been posting here lately, though I have been reading the posts. Yes, I do plan on seeing the new Bond film, as I'm a bit of a fan. I have a trivia question that some die-hard fans of I.D. may know: What piece of music did we play before we hit the stage? I'll give you a hint: it was from a film series starring a certain three-digit English spy. If you can tell me the track name AND the movie it came from, you'll win a FREE Imperial Drag T-shirt.

Somebody recently asked me about Mission to Mars, the solo project I was working on post-Imperial Drag - Well, it's funny you should ask - I was just listening to the demo I recorded about three years ago, and I was thinking of giving it another go. I abandoned the endeavour after about eight months or so into it when it seemed the cards were stacked against the whole thing from the getgo. First Disney released a SHIT movie (directed by one of my all-time favorite directors, too, Brian DePalma! What a steaming load!) with the same name, then I was threatened with a lawsuit by some asshole up in San Francisco - on top of all that, my band, which was made up basically of Myself, Joe Karnes, and my friend Chris Damerst (who plays rhythm guitar in LFOT), was so hard to keep together, due largely to Joe's other PAYING gigs, and to Chris' producing gigs. Sometimes, you just have to admit when you're licked. Besides, I had a larger vision of the sound that I heard in my head than I could afford, both financially AND physically. I was playing drums and singing for the few gigs we actually played which, let me tell you, was no small task. Imagine giving a speech while you're running the 4.40 marathon...I think you get the picture. If I decide to get the band going again, I will change the name (I have a name picked out already, but I have to do a search to see if anyone's using it), and probably switch to playing bass. The real challenge is going to be trying to find a drummer I'd be happy with. When you have a very clear idea about how you want something to sound, you get very specific about the players & what they're playing. Whoever gets the unenviable job of drumming for me will probably hate me if he's not completely blowing me away.

Any takers?
