icky,
i just meandered through the old message boards and found what might be the message/pics you're talking about (from the 6/99 group o' messages). Those were linked, but if there really is another way to do it (there very well could be. i dunno), ignore this message. otherwise.......
here's how you could do something similar (i'm gonna use Yahoo for this cause it's what i use for my email, but there are plenty of other places you could store stuff for free, too.)
1. Have the pics you want to post scanned and saved in a folder on your computer somewhere.
2. Get a Yahoo email address (if you don't already have one). It's free.
3. Go to Yahoo.com and click on the "Geocities" link (after the "Connect" header on the left side of the page near the top)
4. enter your email name and password. this brings up a "web hosting" page.
5. click on "page wizards" in the center. this will bring up a page of different templates to use. click on "Photo Page" (it was at the upper right on my screen)
6. click on "Launch yahoo page wizard" and a new window appears. Click "begin" and follow the directions (select a background, etc. it walks you through this part).
7. when you get to a screen where you see "add new photo from computer," click on "add photo" underneath tht option.
8. click on "browse," then select one photo from your folder on your computer. if you wanna put a caption underneath it, just add some text in the box on this page, too. then click "upload" at the bottom of the page. this'll take the picture off of your computer and store it online, which is good. you can put up to 6 photos on a page. when you've uploaded all the photos for a page, click "finish" at the bottom of the window.
9. name the page whatever you wanna (like ickyphotopage1 or something) click "next".
9 1/2. if you want to add more than 6 picture, just go back to step 6, create another page and at the end give it another name (like ickyphotopage2).
10. it'll give you the new URL for the page that these photos are on. either write this down, or copy it and paste it on here, my guess on this part is put the webpage URL in the "optional link URL" space, then write whatever you want to appear in the message as the link in the "Link Title" space. either that or in the "optional image url" space. this is the only part i'm guessing on, but either way should work.
hope this helps. there are probably 10000000 different ways to do this, but this is the easiest way i could think of. first time i've tried to explain it. hope it works out, man.
