Happy Halloween, Dragsters! Glad (and a bit surprised) that you're still out there. Not much has been going on in my world. I did, however, want to tell you about an idear I've had. Since I have literally hours and hours of video footage that I shot of our '96 U.S. and European tour (including the one-month stint with Alanis "Ms. Thing" Morrisette), I thought that it would be cool to edit it together into one of those "Rockumentary"-type movies. I originally thought that I would just make it for the members of the group as sort of a "Remember when..."-type of thing. But judging by the fact that there seem to be remaining I.D. fans all over the Goddamn place, I thought, "I wonder if they'd enjoy having a copy of that as well...?"
Now don't start getting yer panties in a bunch just yet. I'ts still only an idea. It would be an extremely daunting task to pour over the hundreds of hours of tape (keep in mind, I'm not just talking about the camcorder stuff, but the plethora of tapes given to me as well , from fans, the record label, music shows, radio stations, T.V. networks, Japanese bootleg stores...). Let's just say that it would be no small feat. Luckily, I have a friend who does on-line editing for the movie industry who said she'd help me do it. She warned me, however, that it would be "a lot of work".
Even though I really would like to do this thing, it's definitely intimidating. HOWEVER, if I got an overwhelming enough response to do it, it would most assuredly put a fire under my ass. Once finished, I would sell them for a reasonable price (hey, no "freebees"- I gotta work my ass off for this!) through this website (if, that was O.K. by Tiger...?)
I think it would be kind of a cool thing, especially for the truly devoted fan. Not only would there be lots of live footage, but, interviews, radio appearances, backstage hijinks, evidence of just how "glamourous" the "Road" is, rare industry press kit footage, and, what I think is the coolest - footage of the band actually recording the album in the studio. SEE!- Eric Dover's head veins bulge while singing "Breakfast by Tiger" HEAR!- Icky lay down the drum track for "Overnight Sensation", with over 300 microphones encirclng his drums! WATCH!-as Joe Karnes lays down the gorgeous bass track for "Illuminate" while using a felt pick! FEEL!- Roger Manning glare at the camera while he listens back to a track! Imagine!
So, like I said, if you guys think that would be something you just couldn't live without, than I'll get right on it. If not, that's cool. I'll just take my sweet time.

Take care!

-Ick.
