Anyone ever heard of Andy Thompson? (He's on mp3.com and at www.andywho.com.) I stumbled upon his tunes on mp3.com a year or two ago while typing "Jellyfish" in the "similar artists/influences" box and don't know why I never posted anything here about it.
Very 10cc-ish, in that 70s AM radio kinda way, but still definitely messed up enough to make it interesting. Apparently he's based outta Minnesota and has worked with several other bands and artists (including the Soul Coughing fella). All in all, very catchy. My favorite tunes so far are Keep on Driving, Wilmette, IL, and LP of My Eye.
I think I wrote him an email a while back, seemed like a friendly guy, too. Not that anyone in their right mind would come across as a jerk upon receiving a compliment, I guess.
Anywayssssss.....thought I'd toss that out there too all you fine purveyors of all things musical.
