Hi, y'all! Wow. O.K.. Where do I start first? O.K.. As far as the song "Turpentine & honey" goes - Wow! I forgot all about that one! I actually played drums on that (Along with Joe - it was more or less our "audtition" to record that and five other songs (!)for a demo to give to Work/Sony). I always liked that song. I think the other songs - to the best of my recollection - were "Mother Nature", a rather "T-Rex-y" first draft of "Boy or a girl", "She cries all night" (which ended up being remixed and used as a B-side), "Scaredycats & egomaniacs", "Hey honey please" (I think).

The funny thing was (appologies to those who've heard this story before), when Roger asked if I could record the demo, he gave me a tape with two different arrangements of each of the six songs - one with the vocals, and the other with the actual arrangement (and a rhythm section that Joe and I would replace). This seemed to me somewhat like rehearsing for a play with the other actors over the internet. Roger and Eric's parts already recorded, it was kind of like recording in reverse. Everything sounded okay, though. As you may or may not know, the tracks for "Mother Nature", "She cries all night", "Hey honey please" as well as the original demo Eric did of "Dandelion", were mixed and mastered, and ended up (sort of as afterthoughts ) on the record or the European/Japanese - singles/B-sides. Scaredycats was recorded during the album sessions.

The whole Roger Joseph Manning Jr. thing came about when Roger learned of another Roger Manning (go figure!) who was a folk singer, or something. He just added the "Joseph..Jr." to avoid any legal or artistic confusion.

Okay, I don't know what you guys are referring to when you ask about "Suck out superstar", but suffice it to say, I've personally never heard of a song that even remotely sounds like that. I know sometimes Eric's not the easiest vocalist to decipher, but I'm pretty sure he's saying something else. I will give my demos a listen to see if I can figure it out. I have to say though, it sure is entertaining to hear what you guys come up with for song lyrics or titles. My personal favorite was the one somebody came up with for the line about the "Baghavad Gita" in "Suzy Suicide" (Something about a "Bag of Ajeeta..."-?)

Anyway you guys, it's late, I gotta go. I'll have more news after I do my homework.

Take care!
-ICK.
