Saw them a couple of times (once on each tour) and, like you, bought the ID album with low expectations but... Actually I MUCH prefer it now to the Jellyfish stuff which now sounds a bit saccharine by comparisson. (Though I did recently download from N*pster their version of Nilsson's 'Think About Your Troubles' which reminded me how damn great they were. And I still laugh uncontrollably every time I hear Ignorance is Bliss.) : Anyway, I've been hunting down as much unreleased ID stuff as possible on the internet - or at least songs that weren't on the album. It's surprising how much is out there, and how damn good it all is. The bits and pieces I have found would have made a great album. : Still, I was lucky enough to get a chance to ask Eric a few questions recently. The only news I have is that his solo album (written, produced & engineered by him, poor guy)should be ready in the New Year, and he at least *hopes* to get over for a gig (and a beer. A man of taste, clearly.). In fact, no harm reproducing the email here, I feel. Share and share alike. Well, I understand that Roger Manning is working on Beck's latest (and I disagree with, well, practically everyone on this message board really. I really enjoyed Midnite Vultures, though perhaps it has little to offer the die-hard Jellyfish / ID afficianado. Check out RM's remixing work for Beck and Air (especially) if you want more 'unrestrained Roger'. No, I really think he has found a really great band there. And I'm jealous. : I also hear that he's working with Jason Falkner on his new band project, tentatively named 'Spaz', though where that will be released, or by whom, I have no idea. : Andy Sturmer is apparently concentrating on his songwriting career, demoing songs with a view to having other artists perform them. A shame for those who really appreciate his singing / drumming / performing talents, but I guess it's not hard to understand why he might want to do that. Promoting Jellyfish must have seemed a bit like swimming against the tide. His new songs are generally in a country vein and at least a couple of them are very good indeed. You shouldn't have too much trouble tracking them down in the leaky IP bucket that is the Internet. : That's all I know.
