: i've just downloaded one of their tracks - something about 'airplanes'. it's excellent!!! thanks for this Mike :)
I managed to catch the Flaming Lips at the Astoria last week, they were awsome. really something else, after seeing them a couple of times for the soft bulletin tour, they were even better. They had loads of cool stuff on stage, with guys dressed up as bears and frogs, chucking huge confetti filled ballons into the audience all night long. The new songs were great also, especially "Do you realise". The CD's out on monday I guess, Oooh got the day off work as well.
: Anyway I wanna plug a band to you, I've tried not to before but now here it is. They're called oranger, and they've released a couple of CDs from what I know "doorway to norway" and .. oh man I forgot the name of the other album.. but it was put out on poptones last year. I saw them support Elliot smith last year and they blew him away easily ( for me anyway), and some of thew members of the band are in Preston school of industry with Spiral Stairs, who were cool when they supported wilco.
: I think the second slbum is called "quiet vibration land" or something, and it sounds like the beach boys, flaming lips, kind of sickly sweet sounding psychedelic rock, maybe a bit of eels chucked in, kind of jellyfish-esque, which is why I was so taken with them. Check them out if you get a chance.
: Well that's all I got at the moment.
: Icky - your new band, do you have a deal/record out? Or, (and this may be stretching it a bit), any plans to come over to the uk?
