Hello fellow Dragsters... just had a thought for a topic here...

Give a word that describes Imperial Drag to you. A word that describes them or the music or both or something along those lines.

The word I came up with was: pomp.

It means a spectacle or a very colourful display of some sort. Pomp is a typical word used by tonnes of rock critics to describe glam bands, as well.

By the way... I remember the first time I heard Imperial Drag...
It was May 1996... I was driving with my best friend to pick up another friend as we were going to get together to look for an apartment in Toronto.
The song, Are You a Boy or a Girl came on the radio as part of a new music part of the day on a local alternative radio station, 102.1.

When I heard the song, I was like, "this is fucking cool." We cranked the song up. As both my best friend and I are gay, we immediately liked the lyrics for dealing with gender and identity. I'm not saying the song deals with being gay, but I know the lyrics were inspired by Mr. Dover being mistaken for a girl. Long live rock n' roll. Marc Bolan would've been so proud of Imperial Drag.
