Well...
The last music purchase I made was probably Imperial Drag...and maybe before that, Supergrass or The Exies.
I'm still holding out for vinyl to come back so my cd purchases have been few and far between. What can I say, I'm a lo-fi girl in a high tech world. ;) And although I am not too enamored with some of the music that is coming out now, I'll probably buy the latest from Cornershop and maybe The Hives, White Stripes and Freebish (I think that's their name).
I am looking forward to a release by Mohair. A British band with older, rock influences. It might have all been done before but if it's good, it's worth repeating!! And anything by two British defects, Minibar and Bottlefly.
Personally, I am not into the dance/techno/whatever style of music so the bands that have been mentioned previously I'm not too familiar with...but I'll try anything once...twice or three times maybe!! ;)
Another reason I haven't bought a lot of music is that we have a lot of talented, unsigned bands right here in LA. But, with the magic of the internet and mp3.com, you too can enjoy them...
Gazz...alternative, Radioheadish.
Scared Of Girls...power, punk, pop!
The Waking Hours...LA version of British rock (Hey Ick, I think they are playing international pop overthrow with Steve Bertrand but I'm not sure if they are playing on the same dates).
And if you think 'I'm just a girl' who only likes "poppy" songs, check www.bombchild.com for some clips. Loud, dirty, rock and roll!! If LFOT and Bomb Child were on the same bill you would need earplugs for your earplugs!!!
Banging my head away until next time...
