Songs for the deaf. Kinda reminds me of Masters of reality, Alice in chains and Meat Puppets. Heavy. Dreary. Dry as a God-damned bone. Good rainy-day music (first rain of the fall today). I s'pose it doesn't hurt that Chris Goss of the Masters is a guest musician on the album (as well as psycho-prog-metal geniuses - and friends of mine - sorry, had to name drop - Natasha Schneider & Alain Johannes of ELEVEN - do yourselves a huge favor and go out and buy "Thunk" by them, you won't be sorry!). Dave Grohl is once again, my drum hero. Heavy-as-fuck,yet subtle. No flashiness, no tricks, just solid, smash-your-skull-into-the-pavement bashing. Just the way it should be.
